Colombia Passes Legislation Regulating Electronic Cigarettes and Vapes to Safeguard Public Health

On March 6, 2024, a bill aimed at regulating the consumption of electronic cigarettes and vapes in Colombia was approved.  E-cigarettes were included in the requirements of Law 1335, often known as the "Anti-Tobacco Law" of 2009. These products will now be subject to advertising restrictions, public smoking bans, and tobacco use prevention initiatives. It will also ban the sale of certain electronic devices to minors. To discourage consumption and protect public health, the law requires warning labels, advertising limitations, and a ban on corporate sponsorships.
