Health Canada's Initiative on Modernizing Reporting for Tobacco and Vaping Products

On March 2, 2024, Health Canada begins the consultation process by publishing a Notice of Intent in the Canada Gazette, Part 1, titled "Measures Under Consideration to Modernize Tobacco and Vaping Product Information Reporting Requirements." The consultation period closes on May 1, 2024. Health Canada intends to consolidate the Tobacco Reporting Regulations and the Vaping Products Reporting Regulations into a single set of regulations, modernize and streamline existing tobacco product reporting requirements, and impose new reporting requirements on tobacco and vaping product manufacturers. The consultation intends to harmonize with the objectives of the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act and Canada's Tobacco Strategy.
