On March 13, 2024, the Government of Yukon introduced Bill No. 35, the Coordinated Vaping Product Taxation Agreement Act, to address the growing trend of young vaping and accompanying lung-related illnesses.
It contains agreements between the Yukon and Canadian governments for the collection and payment of additional tariffs on vaping items. This deal will also allow the Yukon to receive 50% of the tax money collected in the territory. Yukon may also negotiate arrangements with the Government of Canada to alter existing vaping product taxation agreements.
