Proposed Rulemaking for 1,4 Dioxane Limits in Household Cleansing, Personal Care, and Cosmetic Products in New York

The New York State Department of State has received a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), which was just announced. The regulation is meant to put into effect the 2019 modifications to Article 35 and Article 37 of the Environmental Conservation Law (ECL), which set limitations on the quantity of 1,4-dioxane that can be marketed in New York in goods used for household cleansing, personal care, and cosmetic products. The deadline for comments is February 12, 2024.
