The Food Safety and Quality Division of Malaysia has published two drafts for the main body and annexes of the Food Regulations 1985 in order to solicit feedback and comments from the general public.

Modifications That Have Been Suggested:

Register II of Annex Fifth A will be updated to include the nutrient content claim for DHA, (Docosahexaenoic acid), and Register IV of Annex Five A will be updated to include the minimum level of function claims for both DHA and ARA, (Arachidonic acid).

Record V of Annex Five A specifies the conditions under which the declaration of amino acids, fatty acids, and nucleotides as nutrients is permitted; Record V of Annex Five A specifies the conditions under which the declaration of amino acids, fatty acids, and nucleotides as nutrients is permitted.
