Canada is set to enact a three-year-old flavor ban on vaping, following a review by Health Minister Mark Holland. The ban, which was first published in June 2021, was initially intended to discourage vaping among young people who had no exposure to nicotine. However, proponents argue that the ban could backfire and harm a significant number of Canadian adult ex-smokers. The ban would restrict manufacturers to fewer than 100 allowable flavoring ingredients for e-liquid in tobacco, mint, and menthol flavors, and prohibit sweeteners.
