Colombian President Gustavo Petro has approved new legislation, known as the "Anti-Tobacco Law 2.0," to regulate the use of e-cigarette devices in the country. The law, which came into effect on May 9th, amends the Anti-Tobacco Law No. 1335 of 2009 to address the emerging use of e-cigarettes and electronic nicotine delivery systems. The law also allows for the development of health and education programs targeting children and young people to increase awareness of the risks associated with using e-cigarettes. The Ministry of Health and Social Security will be responsible for designing educational activities about the potential health impacts and risks of using these products.
