The Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2025, made under the authority of the Environmental Protection and Management Act 1999, came into effect on March 24, 2025. The key amendment updates regulation 17 of the Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) Regulations.

The revised regulation clarifies that a person is authorized to store hazardous substances if they meet specific conditions:
* They possess a permit to store and use the hazardous substance.
* They hold a license under section 22 of the Act to deal in hazardous substances.
* The substance falls under exclusions specified in the Second Schedule to the Act or is contained in substances listed there.
The update aims to ensure a more streamlined and clear approach to hazardous substance management while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
The Regulations were made on March 17, 2025, by Lee Chuan Seng, Chairperson of the National Environment Agency, Singapore.
