In September 2025, Canada listed a new chemical—Alkanediol, polymer with substituted-(substitutedalkyl)-trialkylcarbomonocycle and N-[(3-trimethoxysilyl)propyl]carbamate—on its Non-Domestic Substances List (NDSL) under a masked name. Substances on the NDSL require notification under the New Substances Notification Regulations (Chemicals and Polymers) prior to manufacture or import.

Environment and Climate Change Canada, together with Health Canada, will assess the substance for potential risks to human health and the environment. The publication appeared in Canada Gazette Part I, Vol. 159, No. 36, on September 6, 2025.
