Deazaflavin, a synthetic chemical compound, has been proposed for use in food supplements at a maximum daily dose of 50 mg. It is produced through enzymatic and chemical synthesis. However, due to the lack of evidence confirming its consumption in the EU before May 15, 1997, Deazaflavin is classified as a novel food under Regulation (EU) 2015/2283
