"Following a WOAH report dated 23 October 2025 confirming a Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) outbreak in Vendee, France, Saudi Arabia has announced a temporary suspension on the import of poultry meat, eggs, and related products from the affected region.
The measure aligns with the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) Terrestrial Animal Health Code (Chapter 10.4) to prevent the entry of HPAI into the Kingdom.

However, the suspension excludes processed poultry meat and egg products that have undergone heat treatment or other approved processes ensuring complete deactivation of the HPAI virus. These products may still be imported provided they meet Saudi health standards and are accompanied by an official health certificate from France confirming viral safety."
