The permitted maximum is 100 mg per serving, and products must include cautionary labels such as "For Adults only (18 years of age or older)" and "Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women." The extract must be derived from Vitis vinifera L seeds, contain 70-90% oligomeric proanthocyanidins, and be obtained using approved solvents or water.
