South Korea plans to formulate stricter standards for the nutritional content of functional food labels

On May 29, 2025, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea issued Announcement No. 2025-248, proposing to amend some contents of the "Regulations on Functional Labeling of Foods, Etc. Not Considered Inappropriate Labeling or Advertising ". The main contents are as follows: A. Modify the labeling method of functional content and functional raw material content in functional labeled foods. B. Establish stricter standards for the nutritional content of functional labeled foods . C. Clearly define the daily intake of functional label foods. The deadline for soliciting the above opinions is July 29, 2025.
