,On January 12th, 2026, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China issued announcement no. 133 of 2025, approving and releasing a supplementary testing method for cosmetics, issued in accordance with the regulations on the supervision and administration of cosmetics, the supplementary method establishes analytical requirements for detecting Sudan Red I (CI 12055) and three other related components in cosmetic products, strengthening regulatory control over prohibited or restricted colorants and enhancing post-market surveillance and compliance testing for cosmetics in China.
