,Modern Warrior has announced a voluntary recall of all lots of Modern Warrior Ready, a dietary supplement sold directly to consumers, after regulatory testing identified the presence of undeclared ingredients, including tianeptine, 1,4-dimethylamylamine (1,4-DMAA), and aniracetam. The presence of these substances renders the product non-compliant with dietary supplement regulations and poses serious health risks.
Health Risk
The inclusion of tianeptine presents significant safety concerns. Tianeptine has been associated with life-threatening adverse events, including suicidal ideation or behavior, particularly in children, adolescents, and adults aged 25 years and younger. Overdose may result in confusion, seizures, drowsiness, dry mouth, and shortness of breath, with risks further exacerbated by alcohol consumption. Concomitant use of tianeptine with monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressants may lead to severe complications such as stroke and death.
The undeclared presence of 1,4-DMAA is also of concern, as it can increase blood pressure and has been linked to cardiovascular events, including heart attack, chest tightness, and shortness of breath. Products containing stimulant-like compounds, including those related to synephrine, have been reported to cause elevated heart rate and blood pressure, particularly when combined with caffeine.
