The addendum notifies WTO Members that the Draft East African Standard DEAS 812:2022, titled Synthetic and combined (soap and synthetic) liquid hand wash – Specification, Second Edition, has been officially adopted. This communication, dated 27 January 2026, was submitted by the delegations of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. The purpose of the addendum is to inform Members that the previously notified draft measure under several TBT notification references has now been adopted by Tanzania. The measure was approved on 31 October 2025 and implemented nationally as TZS 1779:2025/EAS 812:2022. The standard provides specifications for synthetic and combined liquid hand wash products, supporting harmonized quality and safety requirements within the East African region. This update ensures transparency in trade-related regulatory measures and keeps WTO Members informed of developments in technical standards affecting such hygiene products.
