The Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released FDA Advisory No. 2025-1564, warning healthcare professionals, retailers, and the general public not to purchase or consume the unregistered food product “KNORR Alfredo Sauce Mix.”

Based on the FDA’s online monitoring and post-marketing surveillance, the product was found to be unregistered and without a valid Certificate of Product Registration (CPR). As such, the FDA cannot assure its quality, safety, or compliance with regulatory standards, as it has not undergone the required evaluation process.

In accordance with Republic Act No. 9711, also known as the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009, the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, distribution, promotion, advertising, or sponsorship of health products without proper FDA authorization is strictly prohibited. Establishments that continue to distribute or sell the product may face regulatory actions and sanctions.

The FDA has directed all concerned establishments to immediately cease the distribution, sale, advertising, and promotion of the product until a valid CPR is issued. Local authorities have been requested to ensure that the product is not made available in their areas of jurisdiction, while the Bureau of Customs has been urged to restrain its importation and exportation.

Market Authorization Holders may request the lifting of the advisory by submitting a formal petition to the FDA, together with a copy of the valid CPR, clear photographic evidence of the compliant product in its final commercial presentation, and a copy of the advisory for verification.

The FDA encourages consumers and stakeholders to regularly verify the registration status of food products through the FDA Verification Portal and the FDA Advisories Issuances Database, and to report any sale or distribution of unregistered food products to the agency.

The FDA reiterates its commitment to protecting public health and advises consumers to purchase and consume only FDA-registered food products.
