"The Philippine Department of Health (DOH) has called for a complete nationwide ban on vape products, warning that advertising falsely presents vaping as a safer or nicotine-free alternative to cigarettes. The DOH emphasized that vape devices and emissions contain harmful chemicals linked to heart disease, cancer, and lung disorders.
The agency raised concerns over enticing flavors and colorful packaging that attract minors, noting survey data showing that 7 in 10 Filipino youths aged 13–15 use vape products. The Philippines also recently recorded its first reported death linked to two years of vaping. The DOH said it continues to work with global partners under the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and is intensifying community and school-based education on the health risks of vaping and smoking."
