United States (California): OEHHA Invites Public Comments on the Carcinogenicity Review and Possible Delisting of Ethoprop under Proposition 65

On December 19, 2025, the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA), United States, issued a public notice requesting relevant information on the carcinogenicity of ethoprop under California’s Proposition 65. OEHHA has referred ethoprop to the Carcinogen Identification Committee (CIC), the State’s qualified expert body, for review to determine whether the substance should be delisted from the Proposition 65 list of chemicals known to cause cancer. This action initiates a 45-day data call-in period, running from December 19, 2025, through February 2, 2026. During this period, stakeholders, industry, researchers, and the public are encouraged to submit scientific data and other relevant information to support the CIC’s assessment. Submissions are preferred in electronic format via the OEHHA website, although paper submissions are also accepted.
