On January 27, 2026, Vietnams National Committee on Standards, Metrology and Quality published information on efforts to enhance the legal framework for quality management of products and goods across production, circulation, and commerce. This initiative is part of implementing the Law on Standards and Technical Regulations and the Law on Quality of Products and Goods 2025, including Decree No. 22/2026/N?-CP and Decree No. 37/2026/N?-CP. These decrees aim to establish a modern, integrated legal structure that aligns quality standards, technical regulations, and risk-based approaches to quality management. The reforms move away from fragmented, siloed oversight toward a value-chain approach, improve processes for standard development and conformity assessment, and leverage data and technology for more effective quality control and market supervision. They also clarify roles and responsibilities among government agencies, conformity assessment bodies, and enterprises to support compliance and protect consumers.
