The Japan Cosmetics Manufacturers Association released information regarding the potential impact of the evolving situation in the Middle East on the cosmetics industry. The association initiated a fact-finding survey targeting member companies, particularly those using naphtha-derived raw materials, to assess disruptions or risks in the supply of essential inputs. The survey focuses on identifying products affected by shortages or discontinuation risks linked to petrochemical-based materials. Member companies were requested to respond to a distributed questionnaire to support industry-wide impact assessment. In addition, the association shared resources from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, including a one-stop portal for updates related to the Middle East situation and support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises. The communication also includes government requests to ensure stable supply of petroleum-related products and guidance for solvent-related businesses such as thinner manufacturers. The initiative aims to monitor supply chain risks and support industry preparedness amid geopolitical uncertainties affecting raw material availability.
