"The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has announced updates to the Export Health Certificate (EHC) reference number format and application process as part of its ongoing regulatory review. The changes will come into effect from 2 February 2026 and are intended to streamline certification procedures and improve consistency in export documentation.

Under the revised system, SFA will standardize the EHC reference number format. Previously issued certificates carried either the “HAXXXXX” or “EHXXXXXXX” formats. From the effective date, all newly issued Export Health Certificates will adopt a single standardized reference number format, “EHXXXXXXX”.

In addition, SFA will update the Export Health Certificate application workflow on the GoBusiness platform. Applicants will be required to select the appropriate “Health Certificate Type” based on whether veterinarian endorsement is required. Certificates signed by a veterinarian, identifiable by the presence of “Dr” before the officer’s name, must be submitted under “Export of food products (Veterinarian) [EXPORTVET]”. Certificates that do not require veterinarian endorsement should be submitted under “Export of food products [EXPORT]”.

SFA clarified that there are no changes to the application process for other types of export certificates. Exporters are advised to review their previous certificates carefully to ensure correct selection during submission. Additional guidance on GoBusiness submissions is available through the official Export Certificate User Guide, and clarifications may be submitted via the SFA customer feedback portal"
