On 25 February 2026 Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS)announced the revision of the ‘Q&A Book on Labelling and Display of Cosmetics Outer Packaging’. The revision aims to help cosmetics responsible sellers correctly label the required information on the outer packaging of cosmetics. It was prepared through discussions with the ‘Jump-up K-Cosmetic Consultative Body’ following the mandatory requirement (introduced in February last year) to display key information on the outer surface of cosmetics packaging or containers. 1. Key information includes: product name, business operator’s name and address, ingredients, volume/weight, expiration date (or period of use), price, precautions, etc. A public-private communication channel for policy establishment and regulatory improvement in the cosmetics sector. a. The main updates in the revised Q&A book include: 2. Labelling methods for capsule-type packaging (individually wrapped single-use products) 3. Examples of outer packaging labelling for small-sized cosmetics where direct labelling is difficult 4. How to label information on refill containers 5. Proper labelling methods for cosmetics gift sets b. Director of the Biopharmaceuticals and Herbal Medicines Bureau, stated, “We expect this revision of the Q&A book to help consumers carefully check the full ingredient list and make better product choices.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen field-oriented communication to operate the cosmetics regulatory system more reasonably.”
