"On January 6, 2026, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection released information announcing revisions to the legal requirements governing the labelling of organic food products in Ukraine. The updated rules introduce new mandatory labelling elements aimed at strengthening consumer transparency and regulatory oversight of organic foods.
Under the revised requirements, organically produced foods manufactured domestically in Ukraine must display the national organic product logo. The official image of the logo will be published following the formal publication of the regulation. The logo will serve as a key visual identifier for certified organic products on the Ukrainian market.
In addition to the logo, the regulations require the inclusion of a mandatory code number, which must be positioned beneath the national organic product logo on the product label.
This code number must consist of three elements:
1.an abbreviation indicating the country of origin;
2.the wording “organic”; and
3.the registration code of the certification body responsible for conducting the organic production certification.
These revisions are intended to harmonize organic food labelling practices, improve traceability, and enhance consumer confidence in organic product claims. Businesses producing organic foods in Ukraine will need to review and update their labelling to ensure compliance once the revised requirements formally enter into force."
