On September 13, 2024, the EU rapid alert system for dangerous non-food products (RAPEX) notified a recall of "Dynamic Viking Pure Red Tattoo Ink." This product was recalled due to its excessive concentration of lead, copper, and the aromatic amine o-toluidine (measured values: 0.0004% and 0.33%, 0.0045% by weight, respectively). Lead is harmful to human health; it accumulates in the body and may affect breastfed or unborn children. Copper has the potential to cause liver and kidney damage and may affect fertility. O-toluidine has the potential to cause cancer and mutations. Legally, this product does not comply with the REACH Regulation.
