On April 3, 2026, the Korea Cosmetics Association (KCIA) informed member companies about a temporary administrative measure announced by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) regarding labelling flexibility for cosmetics and food products. In response to packaging material shortages caused by international supply chain disruptions particularly the impact of the Middle East conflict on naphtha and other raw materials the MFDS has temporarily allowed the use of stickers on labels and descriptions when companies use alternative packaging materials for cosmetics and food. This exceptional measure permits businesses to attach sticker labels containing mandatory information (such as product name, manufacturer details, ingredients, expiration date, usage precautions, and other required markings) instead of directly printing on non-standard or substitute packaging. The policy aims to minimize production disruptions and support industry continuity during the supply crisis. The temporary allowance takes effect from April 5, 2026, and will remain valid for six months.
