South Korea Implements Cosmetics Decree Amendment on Cosmetics Day and Overseas Purchase Monitoring

On 16 March 2026, Korea Cosmetic Association (KCIA) published Korea Cosmetic Association announced the promulgation of the Partial Amendment to the Enforcement Decree of the Cosmetics Act. This amendment is related to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety’s Cosmetics Policy Division Notice No. 1691 (dated March 11, 2026), which enforces the details delegated by the amended Cosmetics Act (Act No. 20901, promulgated on April 1, 2025). Main Contents of the Amendment: A. Operation and reward of ‘Cosmetics Day’ events by the national and local governments B.Request for data for surveying the purchase and use of overseas directly purchased cosmetics, etc. The Association requested that member companies refer to this amendment in their related work.
