On 27 February 2026 Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced that it will hold the ‘2026 Cosmetics Policy Briefing Session’ on March 12, 2026. The briefing is targeted at cosmetics business operators (manufacturers, responsible sellers, and customised cosmetics sellers) and related associations. The session will provide detailed guidance on the following key topics: 1. Major policy directions and institutional changes for 2026 2. 2026 Manufacturing and Distribution Management Plan 3. Cosmetics Safety Evaluation System and Guidelines 4. Labelling and Advertising Standards 5. Activities of the International Cooperation on Cosmetics Regulation (ICCR) and operation of the Global Regulatory Harmonisation Support Centre 6. Functional Cosmetics Review System a. The briefing will also be live-streamed on the MFDS YouTube channel. Presentation materials will be uploaded to the MFDS official website later. Additionally, a joint inter-agency briefing session on countermeasures against counterfeit cosmetics will be held in cooperation with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) and other relevant ministries. This aims to protect K-cosmetics brands and ensure consumer safety amid rising global counterfeit issues.
