On 15 October 2025, the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) published new chemical assessment statements in accordance with section 37 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019. The latest assessments cover seven industrial chemicals introduced for diverse uses across sectors such as cosmetics, polymers, coatings, mining, and flame retardants. The listed substances include Boronitrene, Cobalt sulfide (CoS), Carbamic acid, N,N′-1,6-hexanediylbis-, C,C′-bis[2-[2-(1-ethylpentyl)-3-oxazolidinyl]ethyl] ester, Butanal, 4-(3,3,4-trimethylcyclopentylidene)-, (4E)-, Cement copper, 2H-2,4a-Methanonaphthalen-1(5H)-one, hexahydro-5,5-dimethyl-2-propyl-, (2R,4aR,8aS)-rel-, and Sulfuric acid, compd. with graphite. These assessments describe each substance’s approved chemical name (AACN), intended end uses, and regulatory evaluation outcomes, providing transparency on the safe introduction of industrial chemicals into the Australian market. The publication supports ongoing compliance and risk management under AICIS’s chemical assessment framework.
