"ANVISA (Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency) has ordered the immediate seizure and prohibition of the food supplements Slim Gotas Black and Slim Gotas, both marketed by Nomad Serviços de Marketing Digital Ltda. The regulatory action, issued on Wednesday (November 12th), bars these products from being sold, distributed, manufactured, imported, advertised, or consumed within Brazil.
The decision follows the discovery that the supplements were being advertised irregularly, with claims suggesting therapeutic and medicinal benefits, including promises to treat serious health conditions such as diabetes and hypertension. These types of claims are strictly prohibited for food supplements under Brazilian regulation.
Adding to the concern, ANVISA noted that both products have no identified or verified manufacturer or origin, raising significant safety and quality issues. Because of this, the supplements provide no assurance of quality, safety, or efficacy, representing a potential health risk to consumers.
ANVISA guidelines:
Do not use irregular or unauthorized supplements.
Report such products to ANVISA via the Ombudsman or Customer Service Center (0800 642 9782).
Remember: Food supplements are not medicines and must not be marketed as treatments for diseases."
