On October 16, 2025, China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) released a public notice on the review of the 9th batch of regular registration applications for new chemical substances under the Measures for the Registration of Environmental Management of New Chemical Substances (MEE Order No. 12). After review, seven applications submitted by companies such as Jinkai (Liaoning) Life Science Co., Ltd., Wanhua Chemical Group Co., Ltd., and INEOS Singapore Pte. Ltd. met the regulatory requirements and are proposed for approval. Some substances, such as 4-(4-nitrophenyl)-3-morpholinone and N-ethyl-N,N-dimethylcyclohexylammonium chloride, are subject to new-use environmental management requirements once included in the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China (IECSC). The public consultation period runs from October 16 to 20, 2025, during which comments may be submitted via phone, fax, mail, or email (chem@mee.gov.cn)
