China’s Central Inspection Institute announced that it has completed six draft cosmetic technical standards—including new 90-day oral and transdermal toxicity test methods, genetic toxicity test methods, and updated general principles for cosmetic product standards. The drafts, together with their drafting instructions, are now open for public comment.
Stakeholders are required to submit feedback through the Cosmetic Standard Formulation and Revision Management System by the comment deadline of November 7, 2025.
The consultation covers the following draft standards:
- 90-Day Oral Toxicity Test Method
- 90-Day Transdermal Toxicity Test Method
- Bacterial Reverse Mutation Test Method (Ames Test)
- In-Vitro Mammalian Chromosomal Aberration Test Method
- General Principles for Cosmetic Product Standards
