" State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) jointly released GB 14881-2025, the updated National Food Safety Standard titled ""General Hygienic Practice for Food Production."" This revised standard, set to take effect on September 2, 2026, introduces significant enhancements to food safety and hygiene practices throughout the food production process.

Key Revisions in GB 14881-2025:

Parasite Control: The new standard specifies measures to detect and eliminate parasites and their eggs in foods susceptible to parasitic contamination, aiming to reduce foodborne illnesses.

Allergen Management: A dedicated section on allergen management has been added, requiring food producers to implement systems to prevent cross-contamination and ensure proper labeling of allergenic substances.

HACCP Implementation: The standard mandates the application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles, promoting a preventive, risk-based approach to food safety across all production stages.

Microbiological Monitoring: Enhanced requirements for microbiological monitoring are included, emphasizing the importance of regular testing to maintain food safety standards.

These updates aim to strengthen preventive controls, enhance the identification and mitigation of food safety hazards, and promote the standardized implementation of risk-based management systems throughout the food production process."
