"Estonia announced amendments to Regulation No. 95 of the Minister of Agriculture dated 6 November 2014, concerning the composition, quality, and labelling requirements for jams, jellies, marmalades, and sweetened chestnut purée. The amendments, established under subsections 12(4) and 38(4) of the Food Act, introduce detailed specifications for fruit pulp and puree content, juice usage, and naming conventions for citrus products.

Key changes include:
1.Minimum fruit pulp/puree content for jams (e.g., 450g per 1000g for general jams; specific amounts for blackcurrant, rosehip, ginger, cashew apple, and grenadilla)
Adjusted rules for concentrated or unconcentrated fruit, berry, citrus, and beetroot juices in jams, extra jams, and jellies Updates to labelling conventions, including flexibility in citrus product naming and designation of “extra marmalade”

Transitional provisions allowing products labelled under previous rules to be sold until stocks are exhausted (up to January 1, 2027, for certain jams)

The regulation aligns national standards with EU directives, including Council Directive 2001/113/EC and subsequent amendments, and will come into force on June 14, 2026."
