"The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has launched a call for evidence to support the preparation of a study report under the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which entered into force on 11 February 2025, replacing the earlier Directive. The objective is to identify substances of concern in packaging and packaging components and assess possible follow-up measures, including restrictions. Stakeholders are invited to provide information on packaging materials, substances used in packaging, manufacturing processes, downstream use, waste management, and recycling technologies. The consultation is open to companies across the supply chain (manufacturers, importers, distributors, recyclers, waste managers), as well as scientific bodies, NGOs, Member State authorities, and international organisations. While the focus is on EU/EEA markets, relevant input from non-EU stakeholders is also welcome. The call for evidence runs from 17 September to 28 October 2025 via an EU Survey submission portal."
