"On 1 September 2025, ECHA opened a consultation inviting third parties to submit scientifically valid data and studies to avoid unnecessary vertebrate testing under REACH. The deadline for submitting information is 16 October 2025. The proposals cover repeated dose toxicity, developmental toxicity, genetic toxicity in vivo, long-term aquatic toxicity, and bioaccumulation.
The following substances and hazard endpoints are under consultation:
- (3-methacrylamidopropyl)trimethylammonium chloride (EC 257-182-1, CAS 51410-72-1)
Repeated dose toxicity: oral (7.5.1)
Developmental toxicity / teratogenicity (7.8.2)

- 1,1',1''-nitrilotripropan-2-ol (EC 204-528-4, CAS 122-20-3)
Repeated dose toxicity: oral (7.5.1)

- 2-methylbutyl acrylate (EC 256-170-3, CAS 44914-03-6)
Genetic toxicity in vivo (7.6.2)

- 3,7-dimethyloctan-1-ol (EC 203-374-5, CAS 106-21-8)
Repeated dose toxicity: oral (7.5.1)

- 7,7,8,9,9-pentamethyl-6,6a,7,8,9,9a-hexahydro-5H-cyclopenta[h]quinazoline (EC 801-694-5, CAS 1392325-86-8)
Repeated dose toxicity: oral (7.5.1)

- Benzotriazole (EC 202-394-1, CAS 95-14-7)
Developmental toxicity / teratogenicity (7.8.2)
Carbonic acid, compound with 2-aminoethanol (1:2) (EC 244-600-2, CAS 21829-52-7)
Long-term toxicity to fish (6.1.2)

- Ethyl 2-acetyl-4-methyltridec-2-enoate (EC 816-455-0, CAS 960253-23-0)
Long-term toxicity to fish (6.1.2)
Repeated dose toxicity: oral (7.5.1)
Developmental toxicity / teratogenicity (7.8.2)

- N-methyldiallylamine (EC 219-354-4, CAS 2424-01-3)
