Kenz Henz, based in Santa Fe, Texas, has initiated a voluntary recall of its "Grade AA Large Pasture Raised" eggs packaged in 12-count cartons due to potential contamination with Salmonella, a bacteria that can cause severe illness, especially in vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals. The recalled eggs were distributed in retail stores in Houston, TX, with UPC code 86949400030 and Julian dates ranging from 241 (August 30) to 247 (September 5), with best-by dates from October 11 to October 17, 2025. The recall was prompted after an FDA inspection of Black Sheep Egg Company’s processing facility found 40 environmental samples positive for different Salmonella strains, some known to cause human illness. No related illnesses have been reported to date. Consumers are advised to return affected products to the place of purchase for a full refund. For questions, Kenz Henz can be contacted at 1-(409) 457-5934 during business hours.
