Viet Nam will adopt new formats for phytosanitary certificates from 1 July 2025, aligning with ISPM No. 12. Changes include updated authority name and logo. Old certificates issued before this date remain valid.Vietnam has issued a new food safety notification (G/SPS/N/VNM/170) under the WTO's Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) framework. This regulation focuses on updating the list of maximum residue limits (MRLs) for veterinary drugs in food of animal origin, such as meat, milk, and eggs. The goal is to ensure that these products are safe for consumption by limiting the amount of drug residues that can remain in food after animals are treated. The updated list reflects recent scientific evaluations and aligns with international standards, helping to protect public health and facilitate trade. Exporters to Vietnam will need to ensure their products comply with these revised limits, which may involve adjusting production practices or providing updated documentation. This move strengthens Vietnam’s food safety system while supporting fair and transparent trade practices.
