"On September 13, 2025,  The Parliament of New Zealand Published Organic Standards Regulations 2025. These regulations are under the Organic Products and Production Act 2023. The regulations along with the act now create a legal framework for organic standards in New Zealand.
It mandates that anyone labelling or advertising a product as “organic” must comply with government-recognised standards, be approved as an operator, and undergo oversight to ensure integrity and compliance.
These regulations, which come into force on 3 October 2025, are made under the Organic Products and Production Act 2023 (the Act). They prescribe various procedural and administrative matters to support the regime for organic products and production established by the Act."
