"South Korea’s Ministry of Environment released Announcement No. 2025-561, presenting a draft partial revision of the Environmental Labeling Products and Certification Standards. The update is part of the government’s regular review process to strengthen links with national environmental policies such as carbon reduction and resource circulation, and to resolve operational issues. It also aims to enhance public confidence in eco-friendly products and reflect changes in related laws and regulations.
The draft revision proposes updated certification standards for 41 product categories, consolidation of standards for similar items to improve efficiency, and stricter environmental criteria to better support sustainable consumption and production. Public comments are being accepted until September 18, 2025, with individuals and organizations invited to submit written opinions to the Environmental Education Team of the Ministry of Environment."
