"The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced on September 22, 2025, that it will continue operating regulatory cooperation channels with China to support the export of Korean cosmetics. During a director-level bilateral meeting with the Chinese National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in Beijing, both sides discussed measures to build mutual trust, streamline safety assessment submissions, and address regulatory challenges faced by Korean companies entering the Chinese market.

As China remains the largest export destination for K-cosmetics, the MFDS also held meetings with Korean cosmetic companies in China to better understand on-the-ground difficulties and explore support solutions. Officials emphasized that regulatory cooperation is essential for reducing trade barriers, securing market stability, and strengthening the global competitiveness of K-cosmetics. Industry representatives welcomed the government’s efforts, stressing that joint action between regulators and businesses will further expand opportunities in China and other international markets."
