On 28 January 2026, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) under Ministry of Labor, Taiwan, announced requirements pursuant to Article 12 of the Regulations Governing the Designation and Operation of Priority Controlled Chemicals. Under this provision, operators handling 20 designated priority-controlled chemicals, or mixtures containing these substances at concentrations exceeding 1% by weight, are required to supplement and register additional operational data to facilitate improved assessment of occupational exposure risks. The 20 chemicals designated for supplementary reporting for Fiscal Year 115 (2026) include: A. Cobalt compounds (sulphate, nitrate, chloride); B. 4,4′-oxydianiline; C. Glycidyl methacrylate; D. 1,3-butadiene; E. Ethylene glycol ethers (monomethyl, dimethyl, monoethyl); F. Aminoethyl ethanolamine; N-methyl formamide; G. Boric oxide and sodium borate salts; H. Tri glycidyl isocyanurate; I. Trimethyl phosphate; J. 2-pyrrolidone; K. Carbon monoxide; L. Dibutyltin dilaurate; M. hydrogen chloride and nitric acid. Operators that previously reported these substances in Fiscal Year 114 (2025) and have received written or email notification from OSHA- issued through the Safety and Health Technology Centre, the designated implementing body- are required to upload and submit the relevant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for mixtures containing these chemicals where the concentration exceeds 1% by weight. The required documentation must be completed and filed no later than 31 March 2026 (ROC Year 115/03/31) through the designated reporting system. This measure is intended to strengthen chemical management and enhance occupational safety oversight.
