On 11 May 2026, Taiwan Ministry of Environment announced the abolition of the “Implementation Directions During the Transition Period for the Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control Act,” with the repeal taking effect immediately on the same day. The decision was issued through Ministry of Environment Order Hua Zi No. 1158108793B and formally published in the national government gazette. According to the ministry, the abolished implementation directions had originally been introduced to provide transitional administrative guidance following amendments to the Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control Act. The transitional framework supported regulated entities and authorities during the implementation phase after the revised legislation entered into force, helping ensure continuity in regulatory oversight and compliance management for toxic and concerned chemical substances. The ministry stated that the repeal reflects completion of the transition process associated with the amended law, indicating that the temporary implementation measures are no longer required. As a result, regulatory administration and compliance obligations related to toxic and concerned chemical substances will continue directly under the current provisions of the Toxic and Concerned Chemical Substances Control Act and its associated subordinate regulations.
