The recall, published by the FDA on December 5, 2025, affects both the 34-ounce tubs and 11.5-ounce bags sold across multiple U.S. states.
The contaminated lot was identified during routine supplier testing, prompting the company to initiate an immediate recall to prevent potential health risks. Although no illnesses have been reported to date, Salmonella infection can cause serious gastrointestinal illness, particularly in young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
The affected products include the 34-oz tub (UPC 077890421314, lot 58041, best by July 28, 2026) and the 11.5-oz bag (UPC 077890421352, lot 58171, best by August 10, 2026). These items were distributed through Wegmans stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. between November 3 and December 1, 2025.
