On 13 May 2026, Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) announced corrections to chemical names listed on the Australian Inventory of Industrial Chemicals under section 85 of the Industrial Chemicals Act 2019. According to AICIS, the amendments align Inventory entries with updated Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) nomenclature and do not alter the identity of the chemical substances. Most changes were introduced because CAS updated the official chemical names, while some corrections addressed typographical inconsistencies or aligned Inventory names directly with CAS naming conventions. Previous Chemical Name Updated Chemical Name Guanidine, monohydrochloride, Guanidine, hydrochloride (1:1) 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid, (Z,Z)- 9,12-Octadecadienoic acid (9Z,12Z)- DL-Tyrosine, 3-hydroxy- Tyrosine, 3-hydroxy- Methane, thiobis- Methane, 1,1′-thiobis- Pyrazine, (methylthio)- Pyrazine, 2-(methylthio)- 1,2-Octanediol, diacetate 1,2-Octanediol, 1,2-diacetate Siloxanes and silicones, dimethyl, hydroxy terminated, ethoxylated propoxylated, Polysiloxanes, di-Me, hydroxy-terminated, ethoxylated propoxylated Siloxanes and silicones, dimethyl lauryl methyl Polysiloxanes, di-Me, lauryl Me Acetic acid, cobalt(2+) salt Acetic acid, cobalt(2+) salt (2:1) DL-Lysine, monohydrochloride- Lysine, hydrochloride (1:1) 1H-Purine-6-amine 9H-Purin-6-amine 6H-Purin-6-one, 1,7-dihydro- 6H-Purin-6-one, 1,9-dihydro- 1H-Purine-2,6-dione, 3,7-dihydro- 1H-Purine-2,6-dione, 3,9-dihydro- Butanedioic acid, mercapto- Butanedioic acid, 2-mercapto- Benzenamine, N,N-dimethyl-4-(phenylazo)- Benzenamine, N,N-dimethyl-4-(2-phenyldiazenyl) AICIS stated that the corrected names were updated on the Inventory between 8 and 10 May 2026
