On April 1, 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Initiated a call for comments and evidence to support the early-stage development of scientific reports on occupational exposure limits (OELs) for several substances relevant to workplace safety. The call for evidence covers multiple substances, including 1. Bisphenols: 4,4'-sulphonyldiphenol (BPS) 4,4'-methylenediphenol (BPF) 4,4'-[2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(trifluoromethyl)ethylidene] diphenol (BPAF) 2. Copper and its inorganic compounds 3. Evaluation of the appropriateness of including endocrine disruptors (EDs) in CMRD 4. Naphthalene 5. Toluene as well as the evaluation of the inclusion of endocrine disruptors under the Carcinogens, Mutagens or Reprotoxic substances Directive (CMRD). This process allows stakeholders to provide data, express concerns, and signal interest prior to the formal consultation on ECHA's scientific reports. The collected input will contribute to the preparation of robust scientific assessments by ECHA and support the Committee for Risk Assessment (RAC) in developing evidence-based recommendations for workplace exposure limits. Submissions may include both confidential and non-confidential information, with appropriate safeguards for sensitive data. The call for evidence is open from April 1, 2026, to July 1, 2026, and represents a preliminary step in the OEL-setting process, aiming to enhance worker protection and ensure comprehensive stakeholder engagement in EU occupational health regulation.
