"Egypt has issued an addendum confirming that the General Organization for Veterinary Services (GOVS), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation (MoALR), has approved and officially recognized “Halal – ALQAHIRAH” as the authorized Halal certification body for the importation of meat, poultry, and their products.

The addendum clarifies that the former certification body ISEG Halal has formally changed its trade name to “Halal – ALQAHIRAH”. The newly adopted trade name shall serve as the sole and exclusive commercial and official identity of the company for all future activities, both within Egypt and internationally. All Halal certification issued for the covered products must therefore reference “Halal – ALQAHIRAH” as the recognized certifying entity.

The measure has been adopted and will enter into force on 1 February 2026. From this date onward, imports of meat, poultry, and their products into Egypt will be required to be certified by Halal – ALQAHIRAH in order to comply with Egypt’s Halal import requirements.

This recognition ensures continuity of Halal certification while providing regulatory clarity to exporters, certifying bodies, and importers supplying meat and poultry products to the Egyptian market."
