On 1 April 2026, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) launched a call for comments and evidence to support the scientific evaluation of endocrine disruptors (EDs) in the context of occupational exposure. The call, open until 1 July 2026, aims to gather scientific information on endocrine disruptors that may impact worker health and safety. Stakeholders are invited to provide data on toxicology, epidemiology, exposure scenarios, modes of action, and other relevant scientific evidence. ECHA has been mandated by the European Commission to assess whether endocrine disruptors should be included within the scope of Directive 2004/37/EC, which regulates carcinogens, mutagens, and reprotoxic substances (CMRD). This evaluation is conducted under Directive (EU) 2024/869 to strengthen worker protection against hazardous substances. No current or proposed entries in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation or hazard classes for commenting are defined, as the focus is on a broader regulatory assessment rather than classification of individual substances.
