On 10 June 2026 by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has formulated and released the 'Guidelines for Preparing Cosmetic Safety Evaluation Data (Citizen's Guide)' to help the cosmetics industry better understand and comply with the newly introduced Cosmetic Safety Evaluation System. The guidelines aim to enhance industry understanding of safety evaluation requirements and provide clear instructions on preparing the necessary documentation. This initiative supports consumer safety while strengthening the quality competitiveness of the Korean cosmetics industry. The new guidelines outline essential information and procedures for submitting safety evaluation data for cosmetics. They serve as a practical reference for cosmetic manufacturers and importers when preparing required documents for regulatory compliance. The full guidelines are now available on the MFDS website under the section ‘Laws/Materials → Legal Information → Official Guide/Civil Servant Guide’. MFDS encourages companies to refer to this document for their work related to cosmetic safety evaluations. This move reflects MFDS’s ongoing efforts to provide clearer regulatory guidance and support for the cosmetics industry amid evolving safety standards.
