South Korea Updates K-REACH Enforcement Decree to Strengthen Chemical Regulatory Administration Framework

On 6 May 2026, South Korea Government promulgated Presidential Decree No. 36304, introducing partial amendments to the Enforcement Decree of the Act on Registration and Evaluation of Chemical Substances (K-REACH) following deliberation and approval by the Cabinet. The decree was officially issued under the authority of President Lee Jae-myung and published through the national regulatory notification system. According to the announcement, the amendments revise selected provisions within the Enforcement Decree supporting implementation of the Chemical Substances Registration and Evaluation Act, which governs the registration, evaluation, and management of chemical substances manufactured or imported in South Korea. The revised decree forms part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the national chemical management framework and improve regulatory administration under K-REACH.
